Mandala Nail Art inspired by @danroots

Today I teamed up with a very talented lady for a twin mani (will post that picture on my Instagram, so go check it there).

Dessima (@dess_sure) and I were inspired by @danroots, an illustrator, graphic designer and graffiti artist from Brazil, who does truly stunning art and the awesomest mandalas I've ever seen.

We took inspiration from THIS picture and this is what I came up with:

Mandala Nail Art

God! I missed freehanding nail art!
Aren't these awesome!? You wouldn't believe how long they took me to accomplish.
Note to self: don't go without freehanding for too long or else it'll feel like it's your first time!

Swatch and Nail Art - Wycon No.07

I know, I know. Since Monday now you've only seen me with polishes by the same brand.

So here's the thing: I'm not a swatcher - I don't have crazy perfect swatch photos and I don't do awesome macros.

I'm also not very good at swatcher lingo and swatching to me is just to see how cool the polish applies and what the odds are of me wearing it almost always, occasionally or never. Know what I mean?

So I try on the polishes (you can't say I swatch them really), see how good they 'feel' and then do whatever nail art it inspired me to do.

There! After a mouthful of an explanation as to why there's been posts only about this specific brand, let's get to today's swatch and nail art combo :)

Wycon cosmetics

I've got Wycon No.07, a lovely creme polish in green (teal? - see? can't even get shades right ;)).
It applies beautifully and the shine you see is all its own.

Swatch and Nail Art - Wycon No.718

I've got another swatch and review + nail art kinda post for you today, featuring another polish by Wycon Cosmectics.

Wycon No.718

Today I'm reviewing and swatching Wycon No.718, which is the opaque white from their nail polish range.
Although it has a nice white finish and although it's very self-leveling for a white polish, I'm sad to report this one needs three coats for full coverage.

Swatch and Nail Art - Wycon No.701

I 'recently' discovered a new nail polish brand: Wycon Cosmetics

It's quite similar to Kiko (which you've probably heard of before): it's from Italy, it doesn't test on animals and it provides affordable make up and nail polish.

They've recently rebranded their name (see HERE) from Wjcon to Wycon, so some polish bottles may still have the old name.

A new store opened near my workplace but I was and still am on a no-buy policy, so I bought nothing.
Luckily I have a Bf who can read my mind and surprise me with perfect gifts :)

This beauty was in the gift box he offered me.
It's Wycon No.701 and it's a  lovely shade of blue that looks perfect on me (total modesty, I know, but a girl must acknowledge BF's good taste and eye for the thing :)).

Geometric Gradient Nails - #wnac2015

Today's post is about something I posted on Friday in Instagram (HERE).

I hadn't yet written a blog post about it because I'm not really into the look I created. It just looks very, very 'meh'.

Have a look and see if you agree with me:

Geometric Gradient Nails

Here's what I prepared for that day's prompt: geometric gradient nails.

Paint All The Nails Does Floral

I'm sooo excited to be sharing today's blog and nail look with you.

A team of awesome ladies and nail bloggers and myself are part of a small FB group called Paint all the Nails and today we're participating in our first (of many, we hope) link-up theme.

We voted for themes and floral was the winner - I mean, what else, right? Florals please everyone and there's so much you can do with it.

reversed stamping Floral Nails

I went with a floral reversed stamping nail look and these couldn't have come out more lovely.
I love all the colours so much!

Vintage Rose Waterdecals Nails - BornPrettyStore.com Review-

Today I bring you the last waterdecal set I was sent for review by BornPrettyStore.com.

They're a gorgeous set of vintage roses with white polka dots and they are absolutely lovely!

Vintage Rose Waterdecals Nails

I love the design and the way it makes my nails all classy and vintage-y and feminine.
Mind you the slight pixelation you see in these waterdecals aren't visible to the naked eye. Somehow my camera thought it fun to capture.

Cute Owl Waterdecal Nails - BornPrettyStore.com Review

As mentioned yesterday (see post HERE), I'll be reviewing a set of three different waterdecals sent to me for review by BornPrettyStore.com.

Today I'll be showing you the second sheet of waterdecals, which are also well cute:

Cute Owl Waterdecal Nails

I know there was a big fad with owls some time ago, but I'll always think of them as the cutest thing.
And they're BF's favourite, too - he loved these!
I applied the waterdecals directly on my middle and ring fingers - didn't even need to apply nail polish first, so you can see they're pretty opaque by themselves, which is great (you save more time, yay!)

Cute Giraffe Waterdecal Nails - BornPrettyStore.com Review

This week I received three different sets of waterdecals for review by BornPrettyStore.com.

And today I'll be showing you the first set:

verniz inocos

Aren't these the cutest giraffes in the world!?
When I saw the waterdecals, I knew straight away I wanted to make an in love giraffe thing.
I painted all my nails with a soft pastel yellow shade, except for my pinkie. I used Inocos Amarelinho.
(By the way, there's currently a contest going on on my Instagram for 60 nail polishes by this brand - check rules and regulations HERE).

Animal Print Gradient Nails - #wnac2015

Last week's #wnac2015 challenge was to have some sort of animal print design over gradient nails.

Here's the post about the nail look I posted (you might have seen it HERE on my Instagram that day):

I couldn't go for any more leopard or I'd bore you to death, so zebra it was :)

Ocean Fish Stamping Nail Art

It's been crazy hot in Portugal these last couple days and although it can sometimes be tricky to work with nail polish in such conditions, all I can think of is Summer nail art designs.

Today's one is a simple look, easy to achieve with little effort, given the right tools.

Ocean Fish Stamping Nail Art

Today I bring you a green ocean gradient with stamping nail art of some of the cutest fish designs I've spotted so far.

Leopard Print Nails with Texture

I think I've been obssessing at getting leopard print nails on point, so I've been doing them more often than what's usual for me (you can see my last attempt HERE).

Leopard Print Nails with Texture

Today I wanted something a level higher in the fun business, so I went for leopard print nails with texture :)

Dry Brush Gradient Nails - #wnac2015

I hadn't joined the fun that is WNAC2015 since February I think.

This nail art challenge is hosted by @missbellatracey, @simplynailogical and @kgrdnr on Instagram.
Designs are posted every Friday and this month's theme is gradient.

Dry Brush Gradient Nails

The first prompt was Dry Brush and this is what I came up with.
If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen it HERE on Friday already.

Tropical Flowers Nail Art

  // Press Samples

I felt like wearing some floral nails and today was the day.

I didn't know what to call the flowers I came up with, so we're labelling them 'tropical', because of the season ;)

Tropical Flowers Nail Art

Specially because the colours are so vibrant, maybe, I think of these flowers as some kind of tropical species, although I don't know what to call them really.
