Kawaii Cat Nail Art inspired by Momocheet

For today's nails I was inspired by Momocheet, a most adorable cat, creation of Christy from BeKyoot .

He has a bunch of adventures and mishaps based on life and laughter along with some other equally lovely characters , inspired by 'the pursuit of cuteness'.

You should totally check Christy's work - it'll light up your day for sure and her talent to cuteness is to die for.

I mean, c'mon!, her warning note on Facebook says it so itself: 'Beware, good friends, for here there be KYOOT things, and they like to infect you with squee's and smiles and sugar high happy dances'.

Onto today's nails then:

Doesn't this say cute all over it?

Doodles Nails Art inspired by @boomnails

As I was scrolling on my Instagram feed today, I came across THIS nail art design by Emma from @boomnails (webpage HERE).

I've always been a great fan of her amazing graphic designs and how she manages intricate patterns and the thinest lines in her nail art.

She was the one that first got me inspired to paint Keith Haring on my nails back in 2013 HERE and one year later HERE.

So, of course I couldn't resist recreating her graphic doodles for today's look:

I opted for a nude-ish shade and chose to paint my nails two coats of this lovely peach-y colour: missp Wonderland Pacific.

Mandala Nail Art inspired by @danroots

Today I teamed up with a very talented lady for a twin mani (will post that picture on my Instagram, so go check it there).

Dessima (@dess_sure) and I were inspired by @danroots, an illustrator, graphic designer and graffiti artist from Brazil, who does truly stunning art and the awesomest mandalas I've ever seen.

We took inspiration from THIS picture and this is what I came up with:

Mandala Nail Art

God! I missed freehanding nail art!
Aren't these awesome!? You wouldn't believe how long they took me to accomplish.
Note to self: don't go without freehanding for too long or else it'll feel like it's your first time!

Neon Matte Floral Nail Art with A Maria Vaidosa by Inocos

Today, with  Inocos, I bring neon matte flowers, inspired by this cute design by Paulina from fall in ...naiLove (follow her on Instagram HERE).

I saw this particular design of hers HERE and I knew straight away I'd have to recreate it :)

Lemon Nail Art with A Maria Vaidosa by Inocos

Today, with  Inocos, I'm bringing you some lemon nail art, inspired by this look I'd seen by Kyleigh Knight.

Inocos A Maria Vaidosa Amarelo

I started by painting my nails with Inocos A Maria Vaidosa Amarelo.
This is sadly a three-coater (you know how much I love 1/2 coaters) but the colour payoff is worth the etra coat.
It's also quite shiny on its own and although it makes my skin look funky it's definitely a beautiful polish (I might be wearing this one on my toes this Summer actually ;)).

Cat Nails #A2Znails - Y is for You

Today's  nail art is slightly late - I should've posted it Thursday - but I literally had no idea on what to do for A2Z Nail Art Challenge.

The topic was Y is for You and I drew a blank in my mind.
Luckily, inspiration is all around and a fellow blogger came to my rescue.

Today's Cat Nail Art is 90% inspired by Minnie from MiniNailBlog and Nailbees and 10% inspired by my three furry cuties.

A2Z - C is for Copycat

Copycat (or themes alike) are always a tough job for me, 'cause there's so many nail artists I want to 'honor'.

Still, it's always a really fun theme to tackle and one that can take your artistry to the limit - especially when you choose to emulate something so different from your style, like I decided I'd do today:

Freehand flower nail art, inspired by @cottonconey

I went for a copycat of @cottonconey lovely design - she's got amazing nail art, her neverchanging hand pose is something I'll never be able to match (how do you do it, girl?) and so unique it's hard not to love every single one! I'd been dying to try this particular one.

31DC2014 - Day 13: Animal Print

I've got my 31DC2014 first flop! Yu-uhhhh!
It was bound to happen, sooner or late, right? So let us put our big girl pants on and be fabulous about our fails ;)

Animal print and I have never been too close and even last year things didn't go well.
This year it didn't go smoother nor differently.

31DC2014 - Day 10: Gradient Nails

I made it to 31DC2014 Day 10 alive and kinda of sane! Yesterday's design was submited very red line like, 'cause work got in the way and, although I'd rather paint my nails all day everyday, work is a priority ;)

Nevertheless, I'm making it up to you today with a gorgeous design, inspired by the wild and talented Cristine from @simplynailogical (her YouTube channel here and her Facebook page here - go like her everywhere, now - go, go, go! :))).

Not only do I love Cristine's work - she's the inventive mastermind behind the scaled gradient nails - but I also love how lovely and lively she is within the nail art community.

She's got the wittiest come backs for internet bullies and trolls and she always replies to your comments and words in the sweetest way possible, with a pinch of sense of humour. Yep, love the gal ;)

Here's my recreation of her well-known single chevron scaled gradient.

Love Nails Inspired By Odette Swan

Yep, going all week long with this theme :)
I went simple with today's manicure, not because I need an eye cleanser, but because simple nail art has a charm of its own.

If you don't know yet, I am a major fan of Odette Swan's nail art. I find her creations to be beautiful, elegant and soooo neat they look dreamy and not quite real - basically, she's awesome in the best fabulous way possible.

I've previously recreated some looks from her (see here, here and here), 'cause how could one not?
It was quite in the beginning of my blog, that I discovered her YT videos (her chanel here) and her tutorials are the bomb - you'll know what I mean once you check her out.

Anyway, today's manicure:

When I saw this photo by Odette, I just knew I had to have it on my nails
:)

love nails

I love how delicate and how it is both girly and lady like.

Valentine's nails

I started by painting all my nails white, using Inocos Pipoca em Viagem.

love nails inspired by Odette Swan

While I waited for the white to dry, I took my brush and some acrylic paint and wrote 'love', trying to keep faithful to Odette's handwriting.

half-moon nails

Finally using some paper reinforcements and Bourjois Cotton Sur Ton, I did the half-moon shape and added the little antennas using the same white polish.

I loved the simplicity and cuteness of this mani - impossible not to, right? :)
I hope you're having a great week, lovelies. Friday is almost here ;)

Mermaid Nails Inspired By @missmindful

It looks like I decided this would be an 'inspired-by' week.
Or, if you would, I finally decided to make some use of my Screenshot Folder, instead of saving all its pictures for 'later'.

Today's mani is a recreation of a drawing by @missmindful (you can also follow her on Facebook).
I love her adorable and quirky designs and I have probably a ton of her drawings on my folder, waiting to be recreated on my nails.

nail art inspired by @missmindful

I actually had some difficulty choosing which one to go for, which is why my sister did it for me ;)
She said I just had to paint this one.

mermaid nails inspired by @missmindful

I started by painting all my nails white - I used Inocos Pico for that.

mermaid nails kawaii style

I then took my acrylic paints and a very fine detailed brush and began by painting the outline of the cutest jellyfish you'll ever encounter ;)

kawaii nail art

While waiting for that to dry, I did all the dots and star-fishes (?).
And only then did I coloured each jelly fish and drew a heart inside them.

kawaii mermaid nails

I left lil' Mermaid for last, simply because I knew it would be the hardest - I'm terrible when it comes to painting faces and expressions, so that was definitely a challenge.

jellyfishes and mermaid nails

I also tried the matte version but, honestly, I much prefer the shiny one :)
The colours come out more vibrant and vivacious that way ;)

Let me know how well you think I recreated this cute piece of art by @missmindful and if you like her art enough to have it around your house (I sure do), here's her online shop :)

Flowers Inspired by @kimiko7878

Two inspired-by posts in a row? Yes, because it's my nails and I'm in charge! Muhahaha :) Just kidding!

Truth is I had way too much time on my hands but was completely uninspired.
So I went through my screenshot folder to look at all my must-try ideas and I stopped by this lovely mani from the talented @kimiko7878.

I went with a different colour scheme though:

tropical flowers inspired by @kimiko7878

Lilac and black were more according to my mood today ;)

tropical flowers using KIKO No.330

I've used Kiko No.330 for the accent nail.
And Flormar Quick Dry Black Minimalism for the rest of the nails.

I then went about trying to paint the flowers as similar as the ones painted by @kimiko7878.

tropical nails

To complete it all I added some pieces of loose glitter to each flower's center.

I took the idea of another mani made by @kimiko7878 - this one right here.

Which version is your favourite?
With or without the glitter?

Vintage Rose Inspired By @nictharpa

I've been wanting to do this one for some time over a month now.

I follow a couple non-nail artists on Instagram and @nictharpa is one of them. I love his intricate henna designs and I fell in love with this one in particular.

I loved the colours, the theme, absolutely everything and I knew I had to try it making it into a manicure ;)

vintage rose nails inspired by @nictharpa

Here you can see a side by side (more up and down) photo, of my manicure and my inspiration together.

vintage rose nails inspired by @nictharpa

I've used Coral Matt Effect No.401 for the backfground.
I'm sad the yellow shade is showing off brighter than it is in real life, because you'd see it's really the perfect shade for this one.

vintage rose nails using Coral Matt Effect No.401

I applied two coats of it and 'discovered' that painting on a matte surface is so much easier!!!

vintage rose nails

After that dried up, I started by painting the entire design in white, to really make all the colours pop (believe me, the yellow background is much darker than what you're seeing here).

Guns'n'Roses nails

And let me tell you, if anything, this blogging and painting my nails thing is really teaching some real life lessons.
How to be patient is probably the most important one. You can easily ruin your whole design and have to start all over again, if you don't give each layer some proper time to dry before painting over it.

vintage rose nail art

I was fairly happy with my take on @nictharpa's design until I had the courage to look at the macro - hahaha
I'm fairly happy that I managed the resemblance aspect at least, but I think you can easily tell I need to work on cleaner lines.

vintage tattoo love banner

Specially in this one, you can clearly see how imperfect my lines are and how I even go out of the lines - it's like being a child at kindergarten all over again: haha -.-

vintage rose tattoo

Nonetheless I won't be too harsh on myself, because I really love how they turned out.
They look like the image they're inspired by and I even like how I manage to cheat my thumb ;)

What do you think? Yay or nay?
Let me know in the comments below, lovelies! I hope you've started this week in a fabulous manner! <3

Mani Swap with @nailartbymae

Today's mani is another fun Mani Swap!! :)
I did this one with sweet @nailartbymae and I couldn't resist trying out her super awesome graffiti tropical flowers (that's what I decided to call them anyway ;))

And look! Mae recreated one of my most recent flower design :)
Doesn't it look beautiful? You can also see Mae's original design I tried to go for - absolutely gorgeous,m right?

I applied Missp Pacific (still so in love with this gorgeous polish!) on my index and ring finger.

And alternated that with Rose Jade No.68 on my pinkie, middle finger and thumb.

I then added one coat of Golden Rose Jolly Jewels No.123 to get that graffiti background look :)

I then went about with acrylic paints and started (with tons of difficulty) to paint the one-stroke kind of tropical flowers.

I think I need to improve on those though, 'cause they're not looking all that impressive, although I think that my blue colour doesn't contrast much with the white, so it's not as noticeable.

I hope you've liked today's look - make sure you show Mae some love over on Instagram if you've got an account ;)

Have a fantastic evening, everyone!

Nail Art Week: A Rose Is A Rose with Inocos Rosa

I'm sooooooo in love with today's nails!
I went with Inocos Rosa - you can check its swatches here - and I couldn't be any happier with the outcome.

First of all, this wouldn't have been possible without the awesome nail art tutorials by Martina, from Pink Flying Cow.
Do check her out and subscribe: totally worth it!

This girl is an artist and I love her colourful, bold nail designs and her very step-by-step, detailed tutorials. Click here to see the one that inspired and helped me with this NOTD.

Ta-da!
You've got to admit it looks good ;)

I started with two coats of Inocos Rosa on all nails but my ring finger.

On my ring finger I applied two coats of my current go-to white polish: Inocos Pipoca em Viagem.
I really wanted the rose colour to pop! :)

I then went and did some stripes with Flormar Nail Art NA01.
And it seems to me I've spent too long without making freehand stripes, because these didn't come out as one of my best ones. But oh well...

To compensate for the wonky stripes, I managed a gorgeous rose on my accent nail, using acrylic paints.

This will be one of my favourite designs for a long time and I'm proud I managed to do justice to Martina's design :)

Excuse the photo spam, but I really did like this one a lot! Hope you did, too - let me know :)
Wishing you a sweet, happy Easter, luvs.
