Rest assured I haven't. It just took me a while to find a button with a worth while design to recreate on my nails.
Today's manicure is one of such - inspired by a button - so fear not: there's still many more to come and the series won't fade out just yet ;)
Let's see if I'm out of practice or not :)
What do you think?
Wait, don't say it yet. Check the inspirational button first:
And now, it's fair asking - what do you think? ;)
Regardless of it being close to the original flower design, can I just say how elegant and fancy my nails feel?
Even if I'm to compare them to the original, I'd say I did a rather great job.
And I'm not boasting, 'cause believe me these took me many hours (around 4h) of some hard work, patience and determination! By the time I was finished, my back ache was unbearable! ;)
And I'm not boasting, 'cause believe me these took me many hours (around 4h) of some hard work, patience and determination! By the time I was finished, my back ache was unbearable! ;)
But I'd say it was all totally worth it. I started by painting all my nails white and adding rounded studs to my index, pinkie and thumb.
I decided I'd have two acent nails, because there was no way I'd be able to paint these on all my nails.
I know myself quite well and I know I'm not a born painting/drawing artist. I knew these would put up a fight and would be hard work ;)
I did the flowers with acrylic paints and using a technique similar to watercolour, to make sure I'd get all the colour nuances on the petals.
I spent a lot of time adding colour - more pink, more red, more white and had to make several paint mixes to get different shades of the same colour.
I should try some painting lessons - maybe I over complicate what is afterall simple, who knows? ;)
And to end the photo spam, here's an upclose shot. You can see it all ;)
I'm happy I'll keep these on for more than just a day - tomorrow's post is a special one; you'll see :)
I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
Today is my last day away: it's back to work Monday for me tomorrow - trying not to cry - so my blogging routine should return to normal.
Thank you for being with me despite the different scheduling and know I'll be replying your sweet comments throughout this week - yay! :)
Hugs & Kissies,

DeleteWow! This mani is so exquisitely elegant. I love the watercolor effect, so feminine. I think just having two nails for the art is perfect. The white nails with studs showcase the painted nails - the overall effect is charming and delightful! Hahah, they make me want to put on a delicate floral summer dress and sit in a comfy chair in the shade in a garden, with a long, cool drink at hand. Thank You for the wonderful photos!
