31DC2013 - Day 31: Honor Nails You Love

31DC2013 has gone by, two days now, but I still got some days to complete, so you should be expecting it to last a lil' while still around here ;)

I needed to take three (much needed) days off but I'm back now :)

I bet this day's theme was a hard one for many a bloggers completing the challenge - I mean, there are just so many nail artists and nail designers I absolutely love and admire! It's hard to choose just one, right?!

Still, I decided upon a mani I'd seen and instantly loved by Wondrously Polished.
Lindsey's blog is one I found only recently to much happiness, I must say, for she's got an array of intricate designs, beautiful colour combinations and awesomely photographed manis <3

The one I chose is one she didn't even like that much and one she considered not posting until (and thank the Nail Lord) she did! You can check it here - now tell me, what's not to like about it?!
I love it all: the colours, the geometrical design, the details of it all - perfect! <3

And here's my take on the whole thing:

I tried my best but I know, just know, it doesn't look half as good as Lindsey's ;)
Still, I gotta say I wore these proudly - apart from stripes and triangles, I've never worn anything this 'complex', so I'm pretty happy I managed to make them... acceptable :D

I tried matching the colours Lindsey used, but hers had more of a orange tone to them, whereas mine tend towards red.
I started with two coats of Anny Sporty Snowflake - gorgeous, gorgeous polish <3

After that I used red, midnight blue and white acrylic paints to try and emulate Lindsey's detailed pattern.
The tiny middle parts (which look all but straight and geometrical I gotta say)  where done using the same background polish and Rituals Misty Green.

Overall, I just hope I somehow managed not to disgrace the look too much and hope you liked this one - have a look at Wondrously Polished - she's also been doing this challenge and she's done really beautiful and original manicures :))

Hope you're having a superb Friday! :)
Let me know what you think of my copycat mani for this theme and I'll be seeing you tomorrow :)

Hugs & Kissies,
Mina *
