Tweed Stamping Nails for Alopecia Awareness

http://cubbiful.blogspot.pt/2013/01/review-policy-for-public-relations.htmlThe nails I've got to show you were made to participate in showing my support and in helping to raise awareness for alopecia.

Alopecia is thought to be an autoimmune condition (the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue)  and it's seen in men, women, and children.

In a few people, hair loss may occur after a major life event such as an illness, pregnancy, or trauma.
There's some websites that provide information and support (HERE and HERE) and since September is the month to raise awareness, I though I'd join in with a blue mani.

Tweed Stamping Nails

I've posted this one HERE on Instagram before so you might have seen it already. I thought I'd write the post telling you all the details:

For the background, I used Wycon Blu Profondo.

And I stamped the tweed motif using Barry M Gold Foil Effects.

The plate I used was Cooi 001, which I was sent for review by BornPrettyStore.com.
I chose it for the awesome patterns it has. I've got to tell you, though, that unlike any other before, I really saw the need for real stamping polishes.

Mind you, the details on some of these patterns are so intricate and fine, you'll really need proper stamping polishes to capture all the details and the entire design.

In the end, it turned out really pretty and I managed a decent clean stamping, with all the details.
Pretty elegant, I'd say.

How about you? Are you a tweed pattern fan? Or a pattern fan at all?
What stamping nail polishes would you advise me on? Really looking to improving my stamping skills, so thank you in advance for your input :)

  3. Wow your stamping is perfection! You've used one of my favourite stamping polishes ever, the gold Barry M! The silver one is great for stamping too :D

  4. Am I right when it seems the plate has quite shallow etching? Might explain the need for a proper stamping polish. The look you created is stunning!

  8. I should definitely ask Sasha, she's my stamping Goddess! I suck at stamping. Completely! ;-) Even with special stamping polishes, I still can't get a clean look - but you know that already ;-)

So Alopecia is considered to be an autoimmune reaction? makes sense... I knew it was hormones conditioned (my pregnancies taught me that - I still miss my preggo hair&nails sniff!) but it never crossed my mind that it would be an autoimmune condition on its own. Congrats for supporting the cause and spreading awareness!
