They Call It A Distressed Mani

... but I find it's so much more than that! :)
A year ago, I did these, from a look I'd seen somewhere, way before I even started blogging. I wish I knew who I've seen it wear it, but to this day I can't remember.

It's pretty much the same thing as the distressed look, only the brush strokes are done in multiple different directions. You feather your polish brush on your nails with as little nail polish on it as possible and it will give you a very artsy result, with minimum effort.

Sarah, from Chalkboard Nails, who made this look quite the rage, has a great tutorial on it :) Just click here.

I skipped the black polish altogether and did this one with happy colours only, but I guess I can still call it 'distressed look'.

And just to assure you this one is easy as peaches, I did it on my right hand nails ;)
Have a look:

I think my right hand never looked so fancy :)

I started with a white base to really make all the colours pop.

I applied several polishes (too many to list them all here) and stopped when I was happy with the end result.
Don't over apply or it'll be too messy and you won't be able to get smooth layers.

To end this manicure I topped it with a pair of studs (they're from Born Pretty Store - here's the link to them - and you get 10% off your purchase with cubbiful's code SGBQ10).

What do you think? Are these perfect for Spring or what? ;)

Too bad the weather's back to being cold and cloudy but, oh well!, at least my nails cheered me up!
Hope you found that, too - leave me your comment about it <3

Hugs & Kissies,

  2. heheh, if I send you my nails, would you do this for me, pretty please?! I love love love your particular design - the colors, the strokes and their placement, the studs. I have to try this type of mani. I'm thinking that with the seemingly never-ending, hot, muggy summers we have here that drive ya crazy, this mani would fit right in!
