That First Date!

Okay, today's manicure was not really intended as another Valentine's one, so if it crosses your mind to think so, just squish and squash it off of your mind ;)

hehehe - just kidding! Trust me, you won't be able to look at this one and not think of Valentine's!

For me it just sets the perfect tone for a cosy date with that special one ;)

Talk about cute!!
hahaha - don't think me conceited, but this one just appeals to my heart *.*

I know the cup is nearly as big (if not bigger) as the pot. Proportions wise all is wrong here, but...
I still can't help but feel all warm inside looking at it.

And I think the pastel colours really look the cutest together, wouldn't you say?
But enough patting myself on the back and onto some mani details shall we? ;)

I started by applying two coats of the base colours - pastel pink and pastel yellow - using Rimmel London Pink of Me and Rimmel London Lemon Drop.

After it dried, I picked up my acrylic paints and started mixing some white with my yellow, trying to achieve the same shade as the Lemon Drop polish, to draw the cup and the pot.
You can tell, my cup isn't exactly perfect but who likes perfect anyway, right? ;)

The pot was slightly easier to make and it looks more... 'normal', I'd say ;)
The outlining was the hardest thing to do - I'm trying to better myself at this - and I had to concentrate real hard.
Seriously, I stopped breathing everytime the brush touched the nail, just to get it right ;)

To finish the look I took my white striper - Flormar Nail Art NA01  - and drew the stripes on each yellow nail (my thumb, index and pinkie).
I couldn't resist it and applied one rounded stud on each as well ;)

Overall, I can tell you this was one manicure I loved wearing!
Looooooved!
So let me know what you think and also tell me if this would be a Valentine's manicure you'd rock on your nails ;)

Hugs & Kissies,
Mina *

  1. My gosh! I can't find the right words to describe how much I love these! First of all the colors are so beautiful and work together so well. I love this yellow pastel from Rimmel! Me need some pastel yellow :) And the teacup and teapot are just too adorable! The details you made are amazing! The whole thing reminds me of the Beauty and the Beast from Disney. You know Belle's yellow dress and all the teacups and teapots in the movie! :) Amazing!
