I've Got Houndstooth On My Nails!

This post should be named «Dilemmas of a Nail Blogger» instead though.

You have no idea of how much I had to go through to be able to scoop the photos of today's mani out of my camera.

If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen my drama queen moment:

True (horrid) story!!
And if you don't have an Instagram account, worry not, 'cause I made another meme just for you ;)

I have bought some limited edition Kiko polishes and haven't been able to swatch them for you this weekend! :(
Oh the pain!

Anywho, I think the problem with my camera is something internal that is not connecting properly. So when I insert the USB cable, it's like I've done nothing. Zero things happen - the computer won't recognise it even.
*sighs*

But, because I'm a stubborn one, I decided today's mani couldn't go unpublished and I decided it was photo rescue time! I twisted the cable so much, trying somehow to reach the part inside the camera that is acting stupid, that I almost broke a nail!

But eventually I managed to transfer the photos to my computer and without further ado, here's today's mani for you, lovelies:

Ta-da!
Houndstooth for you :)

Now, I look at this and I, too, think: it's not perfectly done.
I'm with you on that one.
I mean, you're supposed to have the same pattern on both the silver and the black shapes, which I... don't.

Nonetheless, considering this was my first go at the pattern and considering I did it freehand (that's right!!), I'd say they're not too bad at all! ;)

I started this with Flormar Wild Nails CW101, my favorite mirror like silver polish (even in two easy coats).
That and I just love how chic it feels on my nails ;)

And then I drew the pattern using my detail nail art brush and some black acrylic paint.
Now you may be wondering what got me to do this in the first place...

And here it is - I bought several pairs of leggings (or jeggings or something) a while back and these just always got me mesmerized.

So much so that I went and did them on my nails on a matchy-matchy day - behold my mighty thigh! hehehe

And that's it! Let me know what you think of today's NOTD.
Plus, have you ever matched your nails to your outfit? I'm starting to think it's kinda fun to do so sometimes!

I hope Monday wasn't too rude on you and I wish you all a wonderful week.
(Please note that if this week's posts are a bit inconsistent, it's not all my fault, okay? Luv you all!)

Hugs & Kissies,
Mina *

  2. I seriously applaud you for doing this FREEHAND!!! It must have taken forever. When I first saw the photo on FB, I was like, oh, she has the same stamping plate as I do. :D
Even thought they are not exactly perfect like you said ("you're supposed to have the same pattern on both the silver and the black shapes"), I think it is stunning and how much more awesome is it to be able to say you did all of that BY HAND?! I know for a fact any attempt on my part would look horrid... probably couldn't even tell it was supposed to be houndstooth! Lol
You're right, it IS so very chic feeling. :D Again, fabulous job!!
