My Wedding Nails

Hellooooooooooooooo :D

Lawd! How long has it been, lovelies? It feels like a decade since I last talked to you.

And can you believe I've actually kept my manicure all the way from Saturday?
Truth is it's just been way too warm (even at night time) to change your mani.

I mean, 42Cº is way too much to be trying to apply nail polish!
It'll just bubble up, no matter how careful you are and how cold you try your hands to be.

But, I thought it high time to show you what nails I wore for my cousins' wedding (you'll be glad to hear I also found a lovely dress - my Mom rocks big time! ;)).

Onto the nails then:

I went through my stash to try and find a polish as similar in tone to the dress I'd be wearing and I'm holding onto the dress in all photos, so you can compare and I think I actually did good, don't you? ;)

This is Layla Magneffect Artic Blue in case you're wondering.
I used it as a 'normal' polish, neverminding its magnetic effect :)

I started by painting my nails all white, using OPI Alpine Snow.
I then took some paper reinforcements for the half moon look and painted the nails with Layla Artic Blue.

I then picked my Kiss SPA02 White striper and did a eight-pointed star, trying to do the white lines more on the thicker side.

Using a striper brush and the same Layla Artic Blue I drew lines within lines, to give the stars some dimension.

And that was it. I can't tell I was particularly inspired but I liked the simplicity of this mani.
Not too fancy nor too over the top either, I think they matched the simple dress to perfection :D

How about you? Did you like these?
Hope you haven't yet died over this heat wave we've been having and hope you don't miss me too much - hehehe ;)

Don't worry, I'm almost returning to full speed manis ;)
Meanwhile, stick around and let me know your thoughts and opinions on this one.

Hugs & Kissies,
Mina *

  1. You can send some of that heat over here if you want! It's cold and not summer like at all here :(

As for the wedding it was a lot of fun (don't think we have any special characteristic traditions), especially seeing cousins I hadn't seen in quite some time :D
