It's Black! It's White! - Day 1

So, I've engaged in another nail art challenge, hosted by Beauty-Shoes-Nails-Fun. 
And this one truly is a challenge to yours truly, believe me! All I can use is black and white. No other colours allowed!

The colour freak in me is screaming her lungs out, right now! 
Muhahahaha ;)

Today's challenge was something geometric and I've gotta say I don't like the mani I came up with, for two reasons. 

1) I wanted to try and come out with a mandala flower using geometrical shapes but... yeah, not much luck at that :(

2) the mani I ended up with reminds me too much of one I've done already (see here) and 'meh', not really original, is it? :/

Still, judge for yourselves and smack my head in the comment section below afterwards ;)

There, doesn't it look too much like its predecessor? :/

*bummed*

I started by painting all my nails two coats white, using OPI Alpine Snow.

I then taped my index, pinkie and thumb for a star/triangle design and painted black over the white with Purple Professional No.18.

Next, I took my Kiss Nail Art SPA12 Black striper and took ages to draw the mosaic-ish middle and ring fingers. I wanted the lines to be really thin and straight. 

But, alas, in some of them you can see the tip of the brush slipped and did some irregularities.

*sighs*

Also, do you know when you clean your cuticles and you're being really careful about it, leaving it all nice and squeaky clean?

And then you go out, take your photos in the morning ligh to avoid bad yellow sun, store your camera in your bag, get home after work, start writing your post and then notice... that... thing... over there?

Yes... that one spot you didn't notice while cleaning your cuticles and which is now all over your photos?! Buh-uh! Talk about 'Fail'!

I don't know how I'll survive without colour but...I may come up with a strategy and share it later with you, lovelies!
