... are a pain to do! I mean it and I'm not taking it back! ;)
haha
Today's challenge was to do some sunflowers. Now...considering all I used was a nail striper, I think I didn't do too bad.
I could've, of course, done a lot better, but... it was also my first time and, trust me, I did put a lot of effort into this one - this was actually my second try at the design!
I had to clean it all up with acetone and start again, as I wasn't too happy about the first design.
But enough talking and excusing my poor painting habilities - haha - let's do this! :D
And this is what I mean! The sunflowers look just like dabbed polish - no real shapes!
*sigh*
*sigh*
I went with a blue base for the skies, using Coral Matt No. 406.
And I'm glad I did, because it's the one thing that makes this design stand out ;)
I did the sunflowers by placing polish over polish three or four times. That's why this took so long: I had to wait for each layer to dry, so I could do another one.
I used a mixture of two different yellows, although I don't think it's noticeable. I went with Perfect Lady No.31 and Coral Matt No 401.
For the center of the sunflower, I got out my brand new brown polish, Perfect Lady No. 76, and mixed it with Coral Matt No. 403.
That's also the polish you can see in the fine lines, trying to give the petals some dimension. And finally I went for a dark red polish for the little dots you see and voilà! Done:)
A lot of work for such 'meh' results! hahaha
I had a lot of fun doing these though, even when I was getting frutrated over it!
And I think I have room to improve. Next time I attempt these, it'll surely come out a lot better!
