It's a Love-Hate Thing

... my relationship with Tape Manicure!

It looks great and it's a technique you can get quite versatile with but boy,oh boy!, is it something that tests your patience! ;)

Please make sure you let your base coat dry enough (even if you apply a fast-drying top coat), or you'll have to start all over again!

And to avoid going crazy with the thin tape... use a pair of tweezers to pick each piece and to apply on the nail - oh nevermind!, you will still go insane the first couple of times! ;)

Don't get me wrong - I love how this turned out! But it was a definite test and challenge to my patience! I love puzzles and all but this! Lord!

So... take a look at the nails below and let me know if I succeeded ;)

I've used Kiko 345 as my base coat, as I wanted something to contrast with Flormar P075, which showed as a very bright pink in the bottle.
The minty whitish shade of Kiko's polish seemed perfect and it only needed one coat for full opaque - so, less time waiting, ladies! ;)

The colours worked well together and even Flormar's polish, which I was expecting to give some problem as it seemed a bit on the neon side, behaved beautifully and set opaque with one coat as well! Yey! :D

You can see from this shot, where it didn't go well... :/
The lines are not all the same lenght and in my index finger, while removing the tape something happened, which I only noticed after -.-'
So there you go - irregular pattern AND a 'chipped' index finger - hhaha

(Can you see how I try to hide the index in this photo? haha)
Overall, I think it turned out a pretty manicure and I liked it after all the work it gave me.
Sometimes you have to sweat to make your digits gorgeous but if it pays off, then it's ok :D

Let me know your verdict about this mani in the comments and I'll be seeing you tomorrow :)

Hugs & Kissies,
Mina *
