31 Day Nail Art Challenge 2015 - Round 3: Inspired by #31DC2015

31DC2015 is officially over - yeah, like 5 days ago, Mina!

I know, I know! but time was of the essence and I had many many many things to do.
This is a lenghty post and one that take's a lot of reasearch and hard work to put together, so I'm giving it to you late - sorry!!!

Without further ado, on today's post I bring you the third and final round - Inspired by - so get ready! set! go!

DAY 21: INSPIRED BY A COLOUR
 2013 ------------ 2014

The brand and the name of the polish itself inspired me to do a Harry Potter nail art.

I freehanded both the letters and the feather with some brown acrylic paint and wrote the spell for levitation :)

DAY 22: INSPIRED BY A SONG
 2013 ------------ 2014

These were inspired by We All Stand Together, by Paul McCartney.

animal nails

It's a song from my childhood and I still quite love it. Also, I took the change to recreate a fabulous frog design I'd seen by @elena_gartseva - a perfect two in one inspired by, wouldn' t you say so?

 Polishes used:
Foxy Paws Lambada

DAY 23: INSPIRED BY A MOVIE
 2013 ------------ 2014

I was again inspired by a minimalist movie poster I found online, signed Vince. If you know the original artist, drop me a comment so I can add some proper credit.

casablanca nails

This is inspired by Casablanca, a classic.
You've got the sillhouete of the landscape and the piano keys at the bottom - 'Play it again, Sam.'

Polishes used:
Kiko No.329 Pale Grey

alice in wonderland nails

DAY 24: INSPIRED BY A BOOK
 2013 ------------ 2014

For this one I was obviously inspired by Alice in Wonderland (Drink Me!).

glitter nails

I loved everything about this mani, from the  nail polish I wore for background to how I managed to freehand that bottle to fake liquid in it.
I was delighted to have pulled this one off.

DAY 25: INSPIRED BY FASHION
 2013 ------------ 2014

On this mani I had the hands of a surgeon - can you believe these were freehanded?
Well, there are some bumps and flaws, so of course you can, but overall I was quite happy about freehanding this pattern.

Dior nails

The inspiration for my fashion nails is this beautiful Dior Haute Couture dress you can see photographed by Patrick Demarchelier.
Now, here's a dress I'd totally wear. Such a beauty!

DAY 26: INSPIRED BY A PATTERN
 2013 ------------ 2014

Now here's a pattern I'd been dying to paint on my nails: grid nails!

grid nails

The grid lines were freehandd (can you tell I've been practising?) and I specially love the colour combo on this one! :)

Polishes used:
P2 Volume Gloss 200 Crazy Beauty
Flormar Nail Art NA01

DAY 27: INSPIRED BY ARTWORK
 2013 ------------ 2014

These were inspired by the artwork of @inkydragon
You know I always have to go with cute and The Inking Dragon has got some really cute art pieces!

cute nails

I freehanded the cute lil' pink fox with acrylic paints over yet another gorgeous Foxy Paws polish.

stripes nails

DAY 28: INSPIRED BY A FLAG
 2013 ------------ 2014

I think I dread this prompt more than I do the fashion one!

negative space nails

I ended up doing many teeny tiny thin stripes and some negative space, inspired by the Portuguese flag.

Polishes used:
Golden Rose Nail Art No.117
Golden Rose Nail Art No.130

spooky nails

DAY 29: INSPIRED BY THE SUPERNATURAL
 2013 ------------ 2014

I went for something spooky that always brings the chills down everyone's spine: silent staring crows on tree branches.

halloween nails

I freehanded the whole thing with acrylic paints and I can't help but confess they do look kinda creepy - this would have make a great Halloween look, don't you think?.

Polishes used:
Dermacélsia No.74

dry brush nails

DAY 30: INSPIRED BY A TUTORIAL
 2013 ------------ 2014

I followed Tam's @ohmygoshpolish tutorial with some changes: I went for the dry brush technique instead of watercolor and used different colours, too.

tweed nails

Aren't these pretty!? I loved wearing them!

 2013 ------------ 2014

I was so happy for this prompt! :)
I finally had the chance to recreate a design by Amy Wong, aka @noriandee.

I always love her designs! They're so graphic and wonderful and full of creativity.
Do check her out for amazing artwork! :)
