I bought some sequins some weeks ago (awesome, neon and such, sequins) and I'd been dying to try a floral look I've been seing some other nail art bloggers do.
So here it is today:
I called it 'Chic Floral Nails' because you know black is that wonderful shade that instantly turns everything into chic mode ;)
I've used Inocos Efeitos 0% Preto.
For the sequin and stud placement I try a different method than my orange-stick-lick-the-tip one.
I was sent for review this Picker Wax Pencil by BornPrettyStore.com.
I was surprised at how easily it picked both the light sequins and the sturdy studs I used.
The wax pencil comes in a kit that also brings this palette to hold your studs (you don't have to spread them all over your working table anymore) and, which for me is the best part, its triangle shape makes it so easy to put everything back in your containers. My favourite thing, for sure.
This
item retails for $1.69, with FREE International shipping. Also, coupon
code SGBQ10 will get you an additional 10% off of your entire purchase.
The only thing I don't much like about my end result to this mani is the size of the studs I chose to wear: I should have gone for smaller ones, don't you think so too?
Let me know in the comments below!
Also, how do you usually pick your studs/rhinestones/sequins to place them on your nail?
I was always told by my mom and sister that the whole licking-the-tip-of-the-orange-stick thing was kinda gross, but, hey!, it worked ;)
So, basically, I want to know if I'm the only freak out there doing it or not - step up front, ladies :)
Hugs & Kissies,
Floral designs are always a win! Love those studs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty Mani! I love the colors of the flowers the end result looks great☺
ReplyDeleteThe flowers really pop against the black.
ReplyDeleteThese neon coloured sequins look sooo cute on you!! :D It could work with smaller studs too, but I already LOVE the way they are :)) I use a ball of sticky putty called BluTack on the end of wood stick to pick up stones etc. ;D But this wax pen thing looks awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah..so..I totally need that wax stick. I do the licky thing too :P
ReplyDeleteWow...that looks so gorgeous! The colours really stand out against the black.
ReplyDeleteYes, maybe with smaller studs would work too,. This way all the spotlight is on the colorful glitter, so the stud size in not that important. I love the end result.
ReplyDeleteOh I love this look! Super cute! I've been using that wax pencil for ages and I seriously can't live without it! I used to dip a dotting tool in top coat but the pencil is so much easier.
ReplyDeleteWow this looks amazing, I love how you chose to wear these studs, they fit perfectly into this manicure! I usually use tweezers (not always the best method) or a dotting tool for studs but the wax picker looks so much easier! xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a great mani ! I've been using wax pencils for quite a while now and I still remember the times when I struggled with my tweezers :D
ReplyDeleteOh, I could never get used to using tweezers - I'd always somehow manage to dent my nails with the tip of it haha
ReplyDeleteIt certainly helps loads, Deborah, you'll like it :) (same goes for the triangle palette - no more picking up non-used decorations with your finger ;))
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, luv! Yes, tweezers were never a thing for me - I'd dent my nails all the time :/
ReplyDeleteGive this one a try: you won't regret it ;)
Thanks, sweetie! You're the smart one - it took me some time to consider it haha
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, darling, you're absolutely right! :D
ReplyDeleteBlack is fabulous that way, right? :) Thank you, John!
ReplyDeletehahaha I'm not the only one! *hi-5 :D
ReplyDeleteBlack is perfect to amplify colours, isn't it? :D
ReplyDeleteCool nails! Love to try it out! :)
