Vintage Rose Inspired By @nictharpa

I've been wanting to do this one for some time over a month now.

I follow a couple non-nail artists on Instagram and @nictharpa is one of them. I love his intricate henna designs and I fell in love with this one in particular.

I loved the colours, the theme, absolutely everything and I knew I had to try it making it into a manicure ;)

Here you can see a side by side (more up and down) photo, of my manicure and my inspiration together.

I've used Coral Matt Effect No.401 for the backfground.
I'm sad the yellow shade is showing off brighter than it is in real life, because you'd see it's really the perfect shade for this one.

I applied two coats of it and 'discovered' that painting on a matte surface is so much easier!!!

After that dried up, I started by painting the entire design in white, to really make all the colours pop (believe me, the yellow background is much darker than what you're seeing here).

And let me tell you, if anything, this blogging and painting my nails thing is really teaching some real life lessons.
How to be patient is probably the most important one. You can easily ruin your whole design and have to start all over again, if you don't give each layer some proper time to dry before painting over it.

I was fairly happy with my take on @nictharpa's design until I had the courage to look at the macro - hahaha
I'm fairly happy that I managed the resemblance aspect at least, but I think you can easily tell I need to work on cleaner lines.

Specially in this one, you can clearly see how imperfect my lines are and how I even go out of the lines - it's like being a child at kindergarten all over again: haha -.-

Nonetheless I won't be too harsh on myself, because I really love how they turned out.
They look like the image they're inspired by and I even like how I manage to cheat my thumb ;)

What do you think? Yay or nay?
Let me know in the comments below, lovelies! I hope you've started this week in a fabulous manner! <3
