Mina's Simple Manis: I Found The Key!!

... to making nail art over texture polishes ;)
I love the textured finish and I have quite a few nail polishes like that.

However, I find myself not reaching for them as often just because doing nail art over them is so hard and I wouldn't want to apply a topcoat to make it easier, just 'cause then we'd miss the whole point of having a texturized polish, right?

Anyway, I solved my problem today and found the key to wearing my pretty texture polishes more often!
Can you guess how I made these?

How do you like it?

I mean, look at this gorgeous polish!
Isn't it a shame I don't wear it more often? I love that it's a discreet, elegant shade, but with a hint of pretty sparkle! :)

You probably remember this from when I swatched it (here) but in case you don't this is Kiko Sugar Mat Light Taupe - No.455.

If you haven't guessed yet, this is what I used to draw the flowers :)

It's a fine tip black marker. The greatest thing about using it with texture polishes is you don't need to topcoat it, so your drawing won't smudge.

Also it's the simplest way of adding some nail art - you can even do it while you wait for your bus to arrive or during your lunch break.
You don't need brushes and paint, this lil' marker is all you'll need :)

'Cause I wanted to keep it simple, I just added a small black rounded stud on my ring finger and pinkie.
And the end result is pretty cute, don't you think?

Have you ever tried this? Let me know and if you haven't, I hope you will ;)

    1. Não vai saindo não! ;) Ou melhor... ao segundo dia és capaz de notar que está mais esbatido (banhos, lavar loiça, etc...)
Mas tenta sim - adorava ver! :)

  4. What a great idea! Eu também adoro os texturizados e sempre uso-os sozinhos, por não querer estragar o efeito passando topcoat. Adorei a idéia, e repito a pergunta da Raquel: não vai saindo durante o dia?
    Vou tentar, com certeza! ;-)

    Beijão e uma ótima quinta.

    1. Tenta sim, Gio - vai ficar lindo nas tuas unhas! ;)
E apesar do design não desaparecer, vai esbatendo a partir do segundo dia (lavar a loiça, tomar banho, etc...)

  5. Great idea to draw on textured polish with a marker, the result is more precised and it does not come of very quickly. A big like for this classy looking mani!

  6. You've done it again - created a lovely and elegant mani, with a twist of fun in it with the flowers! I tend toward minimalism and like that you have not done all the nails in a floral design but elected to accent them with black studs instead. That pen is a great idea, particularly with the textured polishes!

I first saw this 'technique' a long while ago in «One Nail to Rule Them All» - I just adapted it to texturized nail polish ;)
