You can check the detailed tutorial here if you want to try it yourself (or just to compare how awesome her roses are compared to my lame ones ;))
Nonetheless, expect a lot of photos with this post, 'cause lame or not I'm pretty proud of these <3
Now, if blue roses aren't Christmas-y enough, all you have to do is change them to some red ones, with hints of gold, and you're done! ;)
Now, let's write a little disclaimer here: I am one with no drawing skills (or classes) and this design took me about two hours to complete.
You'll probably look at this and think it's not too hard a thing to do (Mina must be real slow at drawing)
and that may be true should you know basic things such as rose petals positions and shadow and light characteristics on an object, which... I don't ;)
So I guess this is proof that the tutorial is a really good one, hey?!
And Melissa does explain it all, so it's like a lesson on a video *.*
I started the whole journey with two coats of Inglot Ño.223 (you can still see bits of it on the tips of each nail.
After that I sponged some red polish in a carefree and soft way, as I wanted the red to have some gold showing from underneath.
I've used Inocos Estrelícia.
I then used red acrylic paint, darkned a bit of it with black for the shadow bits and lightned it with white for the lighter parts.
Oh, and I've used some white acrylic paint for the highlights, too.
And the rest is history - I've got roses on The nails, m'Lord! :)
Let me know what you think of this first attempt (these are so beautiful there'll be more, for sure) and BE HONEST please ;)
You know how much I value your input, lovelies! *
Hope you're having a great Saturday!
I can tell you I am :)
Sleeping till 9a.m., breakfast with love, chilling in the sofa with Les Kitties, having time to prepare a delicious lunch and sit relaxedly for some nail art felt sooooo good!!
Now some time to pamper myself (face mask time yey!!), have dinner with Mum, Dad and lil' Sister - oh yeah, Princess Mina is getting all she deserves today! Gotta make up for a really hard stressful and tiring week ;)
And that's me saying over & out - see you tomorrow, sweeties!
Hugs & Kissies,
