Chevron steel scissors are nowhere to be bought in Lisbon and I feel like cursing every arts & crafts store I enter. You see, they only have the ones made for kiddies, the plastic ones, which don't do the job at all!
Anyway, I did it freehand and that's that! More points for myself and boo-hoos for the stores around! ;)
I started with the most lovely yellow neon background, which I showed you on Facebook yesterday.
Really, if you're not following me already, well... you should ;)
Check it out:
I wish I could say I've been able to rock these but here's the thing and why I sometimes hate topcoating my manis - it smeaaaaaaaared! Look at that! :(
I mean, had it been an altogether thing I could have probably gotten away with an ikat-ish look, but not even that :(
Oh well... I started with one coat of white - OPI Alpine Snow - and one coat of Dermacélsia Fluor Effect Yellow.
Then I took my red and black stripers and cheated the chevron pattern :)
I used Kiss SPA12 Black and Golden Rose Nail Art No.117 for the chevron.
And I left an only child nail - hehehe - which I covered with Nails Inc. Feathers Brighton.
BF wasn't much of a fan of this one - he said the colours were too contrasting and they didn't look good together ... mmmmm.... I think he just doesn't like neons ;(
What do you think? Too bam-in-your-face or fun and bright?
Let me know what you think with a your comment below and have an awesome Friday evening for a great weekend kick off :D
Hugs & Kissies,

Sometimes I hate using tocoat too but it still looks so great :)
ReplyDeleteAwww... you're too sweet, Irmak. Thank you**
DeleteIt's fun!!
ReplyDeleteI've seen the new post with the right hand and I think mixing the designs is cool in case we aren't ambidextruos :D (I do it to economize my time).
For the scissor, I've found mine at Ikea. It cut very well but the zig zags are very small and a bit of strenght is needed to use them (I was hoping to do something... I will try)
Have a bright weekend
xoxo
Awww :)
DeleteThank you, Valens! And I truly appreciate the tip! I hadn't thought about IKEA, so I'll let you know how it turned out for me! You rock**
I like it! Good job on the chevrons, I'm a little afraid of trying this freehand. And I really love the color combo!
ReplyDeleteThank you, hun, and just give it a go! ;)
