I Was Going Down The No-Inspiration Path...

...when I saw this post right here from Sammy of The Nailasaurus.

Do you know those times in your manicure life, when you've got pretty little precious colours on your digits and you somehow feel they deserve something more, but no ideas arise in your empty little mind? *awkard silence*

That was the predicament I was in last night, till I saw Sammy's Fishtail design! Yey for great bloggers :)
Have you ever done that - searched blogs you really love for inspiration? Pfff, silly question alert! Of course you have: everyone has! ;)

But... I had a problem, as you shall read below:

I'm not going to let the cat out of the bag just yet, although I'm sure you've noticed my dirty little secret already - muhahaha ;)

Here's what my nails have on them:

Thumb - two coats of the lovely Linda Johansen Lilac Lilly (I got this one from Sophie - loved it!)

Index and Ring Fingers - two coats of Nails Inc. Royal Botanical Gardens

Middle Finger and Pinky - two coats of Nails Inc. Kensington Palace Gardens

Notice how I didn't tell you which polishes I used for the fishtail?

Well... that's because I cheated on the whole design *guilt face + hides in the corner*

I'm sooooooorry, but it was nearly 1 a.m and I so needed to go to bed, and since I failed at my first attempt I just drew the design with gel pens...

-.-'

It's not the same, granted, but it still required what best steady hand I could muster and hard concentration to make it as neat and proportional as possible... If anything it was harder! 

*cof cof*

Alright... not that much but... do you forgive me? ;)

Oh! I forgot to mention: the nails with no (false) fishtails on them were top-coated with Essence Night In Vegas.

I sometimes forget how beautiful and eye-catching flakies can be! Such pretty effects :)

So, what do you think? Have you had a go at the fishtail design? How did it go for you?
Is it too bad I cheated because I had work in the morning and had (just had!) to go to sleep?

What about flakies? Do you use them? If so, how often?  :))
