31DC2013 - Day 13: Animal Print? Arlequin!!

Following the lead given by the great Sarah, from Chalkboard Nails, and Lucy, from Lucy's Stash, I wanted my animal print to be different.

I couldn't decide on anything by the day of the challenge but, while watching «Tanked» the other day, I saw a beautiful arlequin fish and knew that was it!

I Pinterested the photo I used for guidance here and came up with this mani for it:

After finishing the whole thing, I ended up thinking 'this does NOT look like an arlequin fish, AT ALL!'
But I liked the strangeness of it all and how each nail looked, so I kept it and took photos of it :D

I started with a white base using Bellaoggi Snow White.
And then lightly sponged and avocado green and grey polishes on some parts of each nail.

I then added thin light blue and large orange stripes, trying to follow the pattern.
The black bits were added following the picture as well, although I can't quite see an arlequin fish here - can you?

Still, I really like how this one came out - abstract and with pretty colours.

Let me know if you somehow agree with anything I rambled about here and have yourselves a fantastic day :D

Hugs & Kissies,
Mina *
