It's Back To School!!! - Day 5

Yes, I skipped a day, but I promise I'll be posting a design for the Sports theme this weekend - I just haven't been having much time and with more than one challenge, it gets even harder!

Today, for example, was crazy! I had to do two manis to be able to go for both Back to School and 31DC challenges and my cuticles are cringing!

Anyway, I don't much feel like talking a lot, maybe because my manis (both of them) didn't turn out as I wanted them to and also because the photos are just... plain bad - I gotta say!

So forgive me twice and bear with me.

Today's theme? Autumn nails:

I wanted to do real pretty maple leaves but that had to mean I knew how to draw and that was obviously not the case today, so I had to go 'abstract':

And this is what I mean by abstract - it's not they don't resemble trees and autumn leaves and such but... it's just that I had pictured a 'clean look', with neat details, in my head and it turned out a flop :/

I strated with a nude base and sponged some parts of each nail white to give the background more depth.

Not that it's noticeable, thanks to my super awesome photographing skills, but... ;)

I then did the branches and leaves with a multitude of different nail polishes, ranging from yellow and gold to orange, lime green and deep red.

I almost kind of like the end result although...

I should have followed the thumb's pattern in all nails - it was, again, my favourite :)

Thumb's been turning into a little star lately ;)

Hope you like this one despite all its... flaws. Check everyone else's nails and don't get sad by this - Summer hasn't completely left the building yet :)
