I didn't post these last couple of days because Sunday was a great day, a very good day indeed. I left early morning for the beach and got the most awesome waves and some really nice weather.
Afternoon was also spent outdoors doing something amazing for the first time: tree-climbing (canopying?) and sliding. I have to thank BF for this one; the whole thing was his planning and, boy!, it'd been a while since I'd had so much fun exercising! Thank you, sweetheart <3
And if all that wasn't enough, we went out for dinner and caught the last session on the typical Summer movie at the theatre: Pacific Rim.
Which means: a blast of a Sunday but no time to post nor time to do my nails for the next day (I had nail polish on but no nail art).
And I ended up thinkin about my blog and how I've been doing things lately. And the truth is my perfectionism, when let loose, can be a hell of a hindrance for such moments, which are also what makes life so great!
I mean, I have a job already. I don't need to turn the blog into one, know what I mean? I guess somewhere along the way (and my blog isn't even that old, mind you!) I got obssessed with the daily publication, and that was fine, 'cause it worked for me at the time.
But now, I kind of feel like I've sometimes taken it too much as an obligation and less like an act of passion and challenging my skills and sharing of something I really love: nail art.
So, I guess what I'm trying to get at here is, I will no longer impose myself this hardcore schedule of a mani a day. Not to say it won't happen anymore, because I've got a feeling it will (like I said, I'm a perfectionist) but I have to take it easier, that's all :)
Especially because I can't take something fun and creative and try and make it a forced process, right? It just shouldn't and actually doesn't work that way ;)
Hope I haven't put you to sleep with so much talking and hope you're not too bored to have a look at today's manicure - which I find, if you'll excuse my cockiness, absolutely elegant and gorgeous :D
I started with a red base colour (which I haven't worn in some time): one coat of Bellaoggi Poppy Red (No.39).
I own nine already! Talk about brand obssession! :))
I then went for some tape manicure - which I haven't engaged in for quite some time - with a simple criss-crossing tip pattern, on my index, pinkie and thumb.
I used Purple Professinal No.18 for that - my favourite black polish ever :)
After that, I decided on some roses for a twin effect and went with white, using OPI Alpine Snow.
I tried a different process to add dimension this time, which meant using three different polishes for the petal layers on the roses.
It was my first time doing it and I really love how it turned out, don't you? :)
Lastly I added some black skinny leaves, as I didn't want to break the colour scheme of red and black, using the same Purple Professional No.18.
And to top it all I did some shadowing effect with gold (black & gold is a classic match :)), using Beauty UK Aztec.
Last but not least, a detail photo of the roses.
Sorry for the photo spam - can you tell I really loved this one? :)
Hope you like it as much as I do - leave my your comment about the whole thing: my confession and today's mani ;)
Hope you've started the week in the best possible fashion, lovelies!
Hugs & Kissies,
Mina *
