I don't find them specially beautiful but the fact that they're kinda fluffy headed flowers make tem cute and after seeing this pattern over by Print & Pattern, I knew Chrysanthemums were the way to go ;)
(Thank you to wonderful Lindsey from Wondrously Polished for introducing me to the page - tons of inspiration!!!)
Anyway, the look I was going for was more vintage-y than cute, so I changed the colours a bit ;)
So what do you think? Does this strike you as vintage-y? ;)
I started bby applying two coats of my newly bought Kiko Tangerine (No.482).
I know lately all you've seen is Kiko around here, but I got so many pretty coloursssss!
And I can't just swatch them and be content, right? I've got to have my nail art ;)
Anyway, back on track: this gorgeous polish was a complete surprise to me.
My skin tone is rather orange-y on its own and I always thought shades such as this wouldn't look good on me. So you can imagine my surprise when I applied it and fell in total utter love, right?
Plus, this is an easy 1/2 coater with an incredible fast drying time and gorgeous shine (this swatch has no topcoat).
I then chose dark blue, turquoise and light blue for the Chrysanthemums, in hopes of a vintage, floral wallpaper pattern kind of thing.
And I think it did the deal! I'm so obssessed with these! hahaha :)
And now a close up, just because when I showed BF these he said they looked like blueberries (hahaha!).
What do you think? I know they're far from perfect but I'm happy enough I managed a pattern like look at all haha :)
Don't forget to tell me all you think about this one: the polish and the pattern and how I succeeded (or not ;)) - hope you're enjoying Flower Week so far :)
Have a wonderful evening everyone <3
Hugs & Kissies,
Mina *
How nice! Love the colors and how it looks :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lisa!! :D
DeleteYes, definitely vintage. But the BF's comment *blueberries* had me chuckling!
ReplyDeleteBring on the Kiko! Wish we could get it here. This one looks so juicy - I love it on your nails.
hahahah - people always see more objectively than we do ;)
DeleteThank you for your comment, hun*
The flowers are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love that KIKO ... in fact I love all KIKOs :-D
i'm with you on that one - all Kikos are great!! ;)
DeleteThank you , lovely*
I like this color! And you're right, it looks wonderful on you! Flowers are pretty! Did you do a white base under them? The design looks very bright in spite of the quite dark base color.
ReplyDeleteThe colour is absolutely gorgeous - happy you liked these too! I didn't need a white base, because both the minty of the leaves and the dark blue from the flowers were quite opaque :)
DeleteIt has a little bit of vintage touch in my opinion. I find this mani cute and that Tangerine polish is mind blowing!
ReplyDeleteYay! Really glad you liked it all, sweetie - thank you :))
DeleteAwesome job! Love it. And, my guy said "Uh Oh!" when I told him what your guy said; he can relate to the many times I flash my nails in his face and say - "Can you tell what they are?" :) Loving your flower week!!
ReplyDeletehahaha - they're the best at being honest ;)
DeleteThank you for you comment, dear - it totally made me smile! *
This orange nail polish has to be the brightest ever! I have to take a look at it, because I am missing such a shade from my collection :) Lovely "blueberries" (haha!), but they look more like pretty flowers to me. And thanks for sharing Print & Pattern.
ReplyDeleteYou must absolutely get this one, sweetie - it'll make you feel Summer, no matter what it looks like outside ;)
DeleteThank you for your lovely words, hun **
