31DC2013 - Day 08: Metallic? Keys!

Hello unto you all from the depths of my sick self!
Good thing about being sick? 

You have a good excuse not to leave the house and spend a rather cosy Sunday ;) mmmm... was really needing it!

I wasn't particularly inspired for metallic nails and must have taken off something like three whole manis - I tried tape manis, I tried foil (oh, how I loathe thee!) and I tried peacock feathers.

And then I stopped to think for a minute and thought 'what can I freehand that rings metallic?'
And the answer came to me: 'keys!!!' :D

I started by applying two coats of a really smooth metallic gold polish: Bellaoggi Golde Sand.

I could've gotten away with just one but... you know how it is ;)

I then took this picture as inspiration and tried my best to recreate some of the keys there, using a nail art brush and some black acrylic paint.

As BF said, the shapes could be thinner and sharper, for a cleaner look, but I like them nonetheless! :D

I opted for a matte finale, to make them more... 'real', because...

BF said they looked too much like stickers or decals with a glossy topcoat on.

What do you think? Matte or Glossy?

'Oh your nails look amazing. Where did you buy those stickers?' 

'Ahm...nowhere... I painted them myself?...' 

'No way!'
