31DC2015 Day 27 - Recreate Your Own Oldie - Leopard Print Nails

Now, this is always the sort of prompt I dread.
Give me a theme where I need to recreate someone's mastermind design and I'll be torn which to choose.

Make me decide on one of my own designs to recreate and you've set a picture of hell to me.
It's a pain to choose which to go for because I always think I can never better my older designs *sighs*

That being said, I didn't go for nothing too overwhelming, choosing a real oldie instead:

Click here to see which nails I'm talking about. They're on my 58th post, from March 2013!
Wooo, that's old! ;)
I'd been blogging for little more than two months.

After seeing the original piece, you're probably thinking why I changed the background colour.
But truth is I didn't. It's rather the polish that changed on me!
See the bottom of the bottle, how the colour's different? That's the real colour! Not this pink-ish shade.

Despite my first 'aged polish' experience, I must say I like how I recreated this one - I went with two different shades of yellow for the leopard spots and went with black contouring lines instead of the original dark plum.

Overall, I think I actually kinda made the old design slightly better - the lines are thiner, the pattern is smaller and the two different shades of yellow do give it some dimension.

But what do you think? And how do you feel when the challenge is to recreate one of your own manis?
Tell me everything!
