I Really Like Buttons!

Yes, you read that well and if you've been with me for a while, you know what the word button means in this blog ;)
If you don't, just click here and then here for a little heads-up before you carry on.

And now that you're all ready, let's move along and show you today's button-inspired mani:

Here's the inspiring lil' button. It's a pretty one, made of glass.
(I've got to find some good use for all the buttons, someday ;))

I'm sorry for this photo - terrible, I know, but I wanted to show you the process and seeing I do my nails in the evening, I didn't have natural light to take a proper photograph.
(Don't worry much, though - I've been lamp buying and I can tell you this is the last bad interior photo you're seeing of me ;))
Anyway, I applied one coat of Flormar Light Summer LS04 and went on doodling with some white acrylic paint what I could see of the background of the button (I might have invented some shapes, too ;))

Using the jelly sandwich method, I applied another coat of my base polish over the white drawings and then proceeded with the rest of the design in colour.

I feel like, although this isn't quite a fail, it's also not a very successful mani either.
The colours are there, but finding a way of combining all elements in all the nails was kind of difficult and I somehow feel I didn't manage the challenge all too well.

Despite all that it's still a lovely mani and if it weren't for the gigantic flower on my ring finger, it wouldn't look as strange... maybe...
What do you think?

Make sure you let me know how you feel about this one - success or fail? - and hope you've had a lovely day, today :)

Hugs & Kissies,
Mina *

  1. "Not a very successful mani"?! I really hope that was a joke honey! These are incredible and you recreate them perfectly :) Love the green on your nails <3 and the shapes and the lovely background. I can see that you put so much work into these, so please stop with the "not-so-successful" stuff... OK?! Good! :* I love the buttons you are buying and now I am wondering where I can get some myself. Even if I could just have them in my possession to look at them sometimes and admire the beauty.

    1. Honey, thank you for telling me off - sometimes we are a bit silly and think straight away that if it's not perfect, then it's not good.
Thank you so much for your comment - you're the best! And I'm finding buttons are the cutest thing to be inspired by ;)
