I Feel Like A Mermaid...

... with so much rain going on!

So, instead of going against the lousy weather, I decided to go with it and paint some mermaid scales on my nails ;)

Now, what you're seeing here is a pre-photo - don't be scared. The manicure was still halfway through, as was the cuticle cleanup ;)

I've been trying some indoor shot with my new camera and considering this one was taken with no light box and no special lamp other than my kitchen fluorescent one, I think it's not too bad.

Please let me know what you think (and if you have tips you can share with me, say so too ;)).

And here's the complete look!

I liked the glitter scales but didn't want to go overboard so I did twin accent nails instead ;)

I started it all by painting my  nails two coats of Inocos Pipoca de Saltos.

Just how gorgeous is this bright fuchsia!? *.*

I then picked up my thinnest nail art brush and started freehanding the scales with black acrylic paint.

After that dried (you don't even need to wait, 'cause acrylic paint is that fast drying), I took my minty green acrylic paint and drew inside the black lines. 

I find this way easier than having to outline every single line ;)

After that I took my gigantic tube of pink glitter, some clear polish and a medium tipped dotting tool.

I filled the inside of each scale with clear polish using the dotting tool and then just dipped the whole finger inside the tube.

I pressed the glitter against the nail and brushed the remaining excess with a small make-up brush I don't really use.

And voilà, this was the end result!

Bright and sparkly to brighten up a dull rainy day! ;)
