Reindeer Jumper

I promised you all something cute and here I am to deliver said promise.

Of course that wouldn't have been possible without the help of Odette Swan's perfect tutorial. Do check it here or, trust me, you'll regret it.

I love Odette's work - she combines cute and elegant really well, she's a perfectionist and pays attention to detail, which one can see through her amazing work. Nowadays she doesn't post as frequently as I wish she did but when she does I can't help but fall for whatever design she presents :)

So without further ado, and please bear in mind it won't be near as perfect as the original, here's my version of a cute reindeer jumper:

So the first thing that strikes you when you look at this is: 'This girl needs to work on her horizontal lines'.
And how!! I  need to practise as much as I have done with vertical lines. I practised them so much, over and over again, I can now make them nearly flawless, but my horizontal ones... ish!
Mind you I redid this, but after my third time and my fingers freezing I let it at that ;(

Oh yes! And I also changed the colour combo. Instead of black and red, I went with dark blue and red.
I started it all with two coats of Bellaoggi Snow White (of course! ;)).

Then I added the frame lines to my thumb, middle and ring fingers and did the reindeer on each - which, surprise, surprise, actually look good and not all that alien like instead (I kinda feared they would ;)).

Last but not least I added the hearts and little dots to my index and pinkie and dotted the reindeer nails as well.

And voilà! Despite not being 100% I still really liked wearing these and they gave me an extra feeling of cozyness, quite welcome in these wintery temperatures ;)

Let me know what you think and make sure you check the tutorial by Odette! :)

Hugs & Kissies,
Mina *

  2. Aw, lovely ^_^ .

I don't mind the lines at all.

Who would've thought that the horizontal ones would be such a challenge after one has the vertical ones down pat!

  5. this is so so cute! i love the colours you've used and it looks so Christmassy! I think you've done great with the lines, horizontal ones drive me insane! holding my breath whilst trying to do them but i think they look great that they're not 100% dead straight, makes it look more individual :)
