Different Shades of Blue Autism Awareness Nail Art Challenge – Day 5 Blue Ruffian

Yes, you read it right - I got myself into another nail art challenge ;)

And it was only after I did so that I noticed I'll be doing manicures based on nail art challenges all days of this and the following week - haha, crazy, I know ;)

I'll be getting started midway in this one but... better late than never :)

So here we go with... Ruffian Nails!
Have I told you it gives me the impression that my nails look shorter? Maybe that's why I don't fancy it that much... it just looks... weird ;)

Bam! I can't get any bluer, don't you think? ;)
All these babies were done with Flormar polishes - wonderful coverage, fast drying time and lovely shades! What more can one ask, right?

I started with a coat of Flormar P071, a very bright blue metallic shade and a perfect one coater :)
I then went for the Ruffian using Flormar P065, a baby blue creme polish, that needed two layers to look decent enought over the first blue.
To finish it off and because I wouldn't bear wearing a simple 'naked' Ruffian, I added bits of stripping tape and sponged over them with Flormar P069, a shimmery polish I can't even begin to describe, simply stunning and gorgeous AND highly pigmented :D

Actually here's a detailed shot, just for you to drool over such a wonderful shade :)
Don't mind the bits of polish stuck to my cuticles - you know blue: a master at staining and stubborn to get off your skin! haha

So what do you think? Did this Ruffian convince you? I'm still kind of shaky when it comes to liking it truly - I kind of do but then I kind of don't! haha!

Let me know your thoughts down below and also if you've ever attemped one ;)
Do you usually freehand it (like I did, though not as neatly as it could have been done) or do you use French tips to guide you?

Don't forget to check all the other lovelies manis, also  doing this challenge!

  3. I think this is stunning! I was always told that dark at the bottom makes your nails look shorter whereas light make them look longer, don't know if this is true but there you go.
